Two

Yep. PB turned two last weekend. I know. I can't believe it either.

Two feels like a whole new beast. Clearly PB didn't change overnight, but lately, things have been changing. And man, this kid's a two year old.

PB has a mind of his own. I'm sure I will be grateful for that one day when some other kid tries to get him to do something because "all the kids are doing it". But right now, it's a little hard.

He doesn't want to hold my hand in the parking lot of a busy store. But PB doesn't cry. No loud tantrums. Nope, this kid takes a seat. Sits right down in the middle of the drive and isn't budging.

He doesn't want his cheeseburger torn into to smaller pieces. He wants to hold it and take big bites. He isn't loud about it. He just won't touch a single thing I've made "toddler sized".

In addition, sippy cups with anything but water are waaaaaaay beneath him these days. It took us a while to figure out that the sippy was the barrier to consuming liquids with meals. As soon we started putting these same liquids in an open cup, the kid starting drinking like a frat boy.

His Spider Man ride on car thingy plays 5 tunes. He loves four of them. Don't you dare try to let that fifth one play.

Socks. Pacifier. Any toy small enough. Beware. These will be chucked at your head, from the backseat, while you're driving at freeway speeds. No biggie. He's just telling you he's "all done" with this particular item.

Speaking of "all done", this phrase has clearly become the end-all of whatever we're doing. It's stated emphatically and without doubt. Just as fervently as "please" is repeated when he wants something....now!'

So, yeah. Two is pretty awesome. And I can't believe two years are gone already. He's taught me so much. I hope he can say the same for me.
